Branding: NÉLIA Beverage
Nelia Beverage Line is a brand development campaign that includes a branding concept carried through an entire Marketing Launch Plan. Each component of the brand has been carefully designed in detail with the product and brand concept which includes imaging developed for visual strength. All touch points are considered in developing Nélia. Elements of identity ranges from branding logos, colors, types, flavors, the story, Label design, bottle design, packaging, signage, store displays, and the establishments entrusted to carry the brand.
There are currently 3 beverages in the Nélia arsenal—Aquila, Zeus’ pet eagle, and cup-bearer to the gods; Cygnus a swan known for its travels throughout the ocean in search for Phaethon and Hydra, who was known for trials upon Hercules. The Aquila flavor is that of a mild grape malt beverage, Aquila’s favorite fruit. Cygnus’ nectar is infused with berries to sweeten the premium malt. And finally there is Hydra, the sea serpent mild in flavor, but not in nature. Hydra’s nectar is the rare water found within the core of the moon infused with a hint of lime.
All touch points are considered in developing Nélia. Elements of identity ranges from branding logos, colors, types, flavors, the story, Label design, bottle design, packaging, signage, store displays, and the establishments entrusted to carry the brand.
The illustrations are designed to be a simple vector art within the circle situated behind the waning moon illustration. They are always white with the background showing the color of the flavor in the bottles. Illustrations include Aquila, Zeus’ pet eagle, and cupbearer to the gods. Cygnus is a swan known for its travels throughout the ocean in search for Phaethon. Finally there is Hydra. Hydra was known for his brutal trials upon Hercules. When the illustration is not inside the circle the typeface sits in the center, as no one is sure what Nélia looks like. Her name is her only depiction, sitting over the crest of the moon, and centered within the circle. The illustrations are depicted within the circle. Then the typeface with the name of the flavor is situated below the logo.
St Cahterine of Genoa Logo
St Catherine’s asked for a new look and material to hand out to their students’ parents. I created a logo utilizing many symbols in much of the Catholic faith. The logo is enclosed in a circle, a symbol representing many things in faith, unity wholeness, infinity, and are often protection or containing. In the case of the St Catherine Logo, the circle protects the belief of the bible, another catholic symbol. The bible protrudes from the circle towards a viewer showing that all are welcome to it. Above the bible is another symbol of faith, the triquetra. This symbol is known through many beliefs but here it symbolizes the trinity, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The gold color is used in the banner for prosperity, quality, and wisdom. It is engraved with the schools motto, “Christ, Community, and Commitment”, a quality thought to bring prosperity within their parish’s souls. The blue, also the chosen color of St Catherine, symbolizes the color of heaven. The white in the background inside the circle signifies the purity of its teachings.
EPS
The Cambridge Club was an internal project that allowed for the employees to plan and promote moral building events. Employees within this club participated in roof gardening, city lunch walks, Saturday softball games, barbeques and more.
The SPIRE logo was a redesign of a product that has been in need of simplifying. The original logo was a clunky design, and with a dated effect. The redesign was created with the same font, a lighter color, and used contrasting backgrounds when used in order to have the logo stand alone without effects.
While working with EPS, I was asked to design a logo that symbolized the Race To The Top initiative the company had put into place. The program is a development of their high-quality curricula and team partnerships in order to provide effective instructional strategies.
Silk Expressions
Silk Expressions is an adult bath kit. This kit was designed with flower as the primary focus of the product. Each scent has a carefully illustrated flower shown throughout the packaging. This includes the bag, custom designed box, and label designs.
East Cambridge Little Baseball League
The ECLBL logo was developed with an illustration of a 9-year-old child at bat. This child is at bat, looking at the pitch coming, and in the correct batters stance. The child in knocked out, in a blue and red background. The logo also shows the location of the league since there are 2 other leagues in different parts of the city.
Event Expressions
Event Expressions is a new Event Planning organization. The owner/founder Tara Summers came to me looking for a whole brand Identity. Braga Designs came up with a name, logo, and website. The logo is a delicate flower, symbolizing the delicate nature of planning an individual’s event. The black is used to show the strength Tara uses to express the clients desires in all of their event plans.
Ooh La Spa
Ooh La Spa is a children’s bath product developed. The spa kit includes several pieces for children to enjoy bath time. The logo was developed with bubbly fun letters while the colors selected are primary and secondary. Each product is packaged within the primary package, each custom designed to fit the product.
Unified Facilities Maintenance
The Unified Facilities logo is for a cleaning company needing a logo that stood out above the competition. Here the font was illustrated on a clean window, with a squeegee wiped from top left to bottom right, leaving very little streaks as is expected of a professional cleaning company.
